Our Tech is Mobile Wallet, QR Code based Scan To Pay payments and instant money transfer to another person platform, with a built-in e-commerce marketplace that brings together consumers, formal and informal businesses in the township economy. Merchants range from Spaza Shops, Beauty Salons, Food outlets, Home based chefs, Home based beauticians, to Shisanyamaz, Chicken dusts, Liquor stores, Car washes, Shebeens, Taverns, etc. It is estimated that about half of the South African population reside in townships. Despite the risks, cash remains the payment option of choice in these communities.
We consider our platform as an Essential and Inclusive tool, and therefore have made it available to all approved Merchants for a subscription fee of only R129 per month. Digitization of the township economy comes with numerous benefits including digital and financial inclusion, improved livelihoods and resilience of township business owners. In collaboration with our strategic partners, we endeavor to focus on solutions across the value chain, including scan to pay payments, e-commerce, digital ordering, delivery of stock, wholesale linkages and access to appropriate financial solutions, such as credit to refill stock, and more others that are relevant and affordable for business owners and their customers.
Our inclusive platform promises convenience to consumers and the ability to Pay by scanning the QR Code at outlets accepting Paypa payments, and send money to one another without the need to leave home in order to access cash at the nearest ATM or retail outlet. Because day to day transactions that happen in townships are predominantly cash based, we often have to use public transport to get to the nearest ATM or outlet so that we can access cash which is usually the only method of payment accepted by our local outlets near where we live. Also not carrying cash is safer for us. All this convenience and many more other benefits for only R10 per month.
